How Regenera Activa works

Regenera Activa employs Autologous Micrografting Technology (AMT®), wherein a small tissue sample is collected from your scalp, processed to isolate regenerative cells, and reintroduced into areas exhibiting hair thinning. This process is designed to activate dormant hair follicles and improve scalp health.

This not only activates follicles that are nearing the end-phase of their life (known as miniaturised hairs, which are the small, fine hairs you see – or you do not see – in cases of thinning); it also promotes new hair follicles. No pre-care is . However, you should arrive for your treatment with clean, recently washed hair and without wearing any styling products.

You should avoid washing your hair for 24 hours after treatment. You should not play sport or exercise within 24 hours of treatment.

Your doctor local anaesthetic prior to Regenera Activa procedures. The process is quick and involves a small number of injections into the thinning area. Apart from the fleeting discomfort of the injections, there is minimal pain. Unlike a traditional surgical hair transplant, the procedure is predominately non-invasive.

As such, there is minimal risk of scarring from where the tissue sample is taken. In addition, because the uses cells from your own scalp, there is no risk of allergic reactions.

Regenera Activa treatments works best for early, mild or moderate forms of the hereditary condition known as “androgenic alopecia”. This is most commonly referred to as “male pattern baldness” and “female pattern baldness”.

Yes, Regenera Activa treatments are different to surgical hair transplants. Surgical hair transplants are an invasive . They involve many hair grafts being removed from the back of a patient’s head, and then “transplanted” by a surgeon to areas of hair loss. These procedures are very for tackling larger areas of baldness and can deliver great results in many patients. However, they are expensive treatments, and they can leave and require significant downtime. By contrast, Regenera Activa is a minimally procedure, in which only a tiny tissue sample is taken from the patient’s scalp. From this, the doctor harvests regenerative stem cells, which are then mixed in a solution and carefully injected into your scalp where thinning is occurring. This process helps to create new hair growth and existing hair. Downtime is virtually nil.

Regenera Activa treatments can be considered as an alternative to surgical hair transplant procedures, or to support surgical hair transplants. It all depends on your own situation, needs and goals. Regenera Activa can be very effective for cases of mild to moderate thinning, but it is not suitable for areas where advanced baldness has occurred.

Regenera Activa is an autologous procedure, which means it uses tissue samples and stem cells taken from a patient’s own body. That means the chances of side-effects are very unlikely!

Regenera Activa sessions usually take around 30 minutes, although it can vary. Your doctor will advise you on how long your session is likely to take.

It is likely that repeat sessions of Regenera Activa will be to maintain results. It will not magically give you a whole new head of hair in instances where there is more advanced “baldness” (large areas where the hair follicles are not working).
