Final Fantasy 16 may have some similarities with Final Fantasy XIV , but the developer has made it clear that FF16 is not connected to FFXIV ‘s Eorzea . The rumor was based on the fact that FF16 and FFXIV shared a developer, Square Enix’s Business Unit III, but it seems that the developer wants FF16 to stand on its own merits. FF16 will follow the story of Clive Rosfield, who is seeking revenge for the death of his little brother, Joshua. In his journey, Clive will be accompanied by several allies, such as Torgal, Jill Warrick, and Cidolfus Tela
The studio that created Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance 2 also produced Lord of the Rings: War in the North . Often overlooked by modern standards, the action RPG is one of the best video game adaptations of the Lord of the Rings franchi
Another CRPG that is definitely in the same vein as Baldur’s Gate is Pathfinder: Kingmaker . The classic nature of this game’s setup coupled with many modern mechanics makes this game an absolute gem that more people need to check
Harry Potter fans have been looking forward to 2023 due to the upcoming release of Hogwarts Legacy, which will fulfill many fans’ dreams of becoming a student at Hogwarts, the magical school. It was made clear during this past BlizzCon that the mechanics of creating class builds in Diablo 4 will be heavily inspired by Diablo 2. This means that there should be a heavy emphasis on skill trees with runes and should focus on making distinct, complex choices matter when constructing a class. The worst thing that Blizzard could do is replicate the simplistic and unpopular skill selection of Diabl
With the high-profile titles set to be released throughout the year, 2023 has a chance to be a strong year for RPG games. Square Enix has proven to be a master at crafting engaging and fun RPGs, and the company’s upcoming titles could even beat the best RPGs of 2022 . Starfield has the potential to be Bethesda’s next big hit thanks to the developer’s decision to return to its classic formula, while Hogwarts Legacy could become a popular RPG game with its new take on wizard battles that is different from previous Harry Potter ga

Dragon Age: Inquisition was developed by BioWare, the same company behind Baldur’s Gate . This story-heavy RPG somehow managed to be a ton of fun to play through despite facing a troubled development cycle, fighting against all odds to become a riveting experience that many fans adore to this day. That said, if someone wants to experience the full narrative, they will need to pick up the
Speaking of overlooked CRPGs , it’s hard to not talk about Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader . The game’s first half is easily one of the most enjoyable times anyone can spend with a video game before the latter half crumbles before screeching to a forgettable h
Chances are, Diablo players are also familiar with Warhammer since the two properties share quite a few things in common. That said, Warhammer has produced roughly a billion games , most of which go unnoticed by anyone who is not a die-hard fan of the tabletop game. Warhammer: Chaosbane is one such title, which is a shame as its awesome hack-and-slash gameplay should entertain most fans of isometric action RPGs, regardless of their familiarity with the overall br
However, for a new game, we, of course, expect new content. Hopefully, Blizzard won’t just recycle old classes, but actually come up with something new and original that will make players excited to replay the g
At its core, Diablo games are enjoyable because of the never-ending search for upgrades to a character’s gear and weapons. Even the most marginal increase to power level is often well worth the time needed to acquire it. With that said, a major criticism of Diablo 4 lore 3 lay in how the class sets took up too many gear slots, leaving little for other legendary items to provide diversity in builds and play. Of the twelve gear and weapon slots available to a player, six would often go towards completing a class set, or five if using the Ring of Royal Grandeur. While gear sets are a fundamental aspect of Diablo games, it would be great to see the required numbers reduced to provide greater diversification and personalization of builds with other legendary it
