On top of that, exploring the tree limbs and tree tops is a lot of fun. Across these are a lot of plants that boost speed, and it saw us zipping, diving, dash, and jumping from point to point in a way not unlike a good Assassin’s Creed parkour run . Whereas that emphasizes stealth, freedom, and coordination, this emphasizes speed, being at one with nature, and the limber physique of the Na’vi. The result is a fun environmental design that shows Massive’s attention to detail, makes for a unique method of exploration in a Ubisoft open-world game, and really represents what Avatar is all about. It doesn’t seem perfect though, as we found ourselves on quite a few long treks where we only really had sprinting across the ground floor as the only opt

Just in this one location, there are a ton of exploration opportunities. The placement and landscape of the Hallelujah Mountains are constantly changing, and because Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora promises to show players entirely new areas of the planet, there’s no telling how much more there is to see. Without Banshees, locations like the Hallelujah Mountains would be impossible to reach, but with them a wealth of new opportunities should become available. Players will want to explore every inch of the beautiful game world, and Banshees are the perfect otherworldly steed to travel w

It would be an enticing treat to run into some of these characters within Frontiers of Pandora, allowing you to interact with them for the first time. While we know that the game will explore new characters and locations, there’s always the possibility that its story could overlap with that of the films, letting you connect with some of the characters that we’ve already grown to know and l

This is where the player character enters, as one such Na’vi who has to explore Pandora with zero understanding of her cultural roots. Interestingly, this does put the player in a similar position to Jake sully in the original film: beginning as a member of the RDA only to end up renouncing them. The RDA appear to make up a lot of the game’s enemies. It is currently unclear if, like the original film, there will be any human characters who also renounce their association with the RDA and side with the pla

Because the Banshee is such a special and unique connection for the tribe member, it would make sense for every player to be able to have their own, unique Banshee; limiting the options here would be a mistake. The game could use the Banshee connection the same way Red Dead Redemption 2 used Arthur’s connection with his horse . By riding and caring for it, Arthur and the horse bonded. A lot of Red Dead Redemption 2 players used the same horse for their own playthrough and felt an immense sense of attachment to

Each Na’vi clan varies in several ways, and one of those ways is the skills that each has mastered. The Na’vi clans each have their own strengths, often derived from a combination of their surrounding environment and their unique cultures. The Omatikaya clan, primarily featured in the first Avatar film, are expert weavers and can create brilliant textiles. Avatar: The Way of Water introduced the Metkkayina clan, who are expert swimm

On click the following page opposite end of Pandora, far from its lush natural environments, humans have begun to expand their presence on the planet at an alarming rate. The first film sets up the many interests humans have in the planet and its resources, and The Way of Water explains that, because of their technological advancements and funding from the RDA organization, they’ve been able to essentially build a full city on Pandora in a matter of mon

The Avatar films are largely character-driven journeys. While they’ve done a lot to establish the lore and customs of Pandora, these elements of the story tend to revolve around Jake Sully, Neytiri, and their respective family and friends. The Way of Water takes this even further, introducing us to the children of Jake and Neytiri, along with a number of other significant humans and Na

Seemingly, Massive’s answer to the long treks is the Ikran flight . This sped up going from destination to destination as soon as it was unlocked, but given we were at least a few hours into the game, it feels like it might be something that comes a little too late for some players. Ikran flight, overall though, is still a lot of fun and may be worth the wait for some players; jumping off a massive mountain, falling for a considerable time, and mounting the Ikran at the last possible second was pure and exhilarating experience. This doesn’t abandon the entire “long trek” element of its exploration, but it does shorten it considerably. Furthermore, players are able to name their Ikran, and if players at least go with one of the pre-selected names, the player character will say it in dialogue. We couldn’t resist name our Ikran Floof, just adding to the underlying humor found within the g

All that’s been revealed about the story so far is that the Na’vi are engaged in a war against humans, who intend on colonizing and industrializing the planet. That’s basically the same conflict in the film, but the journey the player takes to stop them is a standalone story. The Avatar game was announced in 2017 but this is the first glimpse fans have seen of the game. There’s a lot to unpack from the trailer and lots of exciting possibilities for both story and gameplay, but the most exciting thing showcased in the trailer is the confirmation of flying Bansh
