In addition to showing the human settlement on Pandora and its rapid expansion during the film, it is also explained why Earth’s government agencies are so interested in the planet. The Earth will soon be uninhabitable and humanity will need a new place to settle. Although the game is named after the planet Pandora, it would be interesting to take a look at the state of Earth in the Avatar franchise during the time period in which it is set. The game could offer some sympathy for humans looking for a new home, or highlight new ways that humanity might devastate its home pla
There are some interesting notes here, including the fact that the Nintendo Switch or upcoming Nintendo Switch Pro will not be getting some variant on the title. It does appear that the game will launch on all of these platforms at the same time though, meaning there are no delays for PC play
Available to watch right now , E3 2021 boasted the latest Avatar Frontiers of Pandora walkthrough trailer, which took audiences through the Na’vi homeworld as they navigated past dangerous beasts and memorable vistas. The trailer gives a great look at the cinematography of this universe but doesn’t lean heavily on gameplay foot
Thanks to the new installment, the planet Pandora has been expanded even further with the inclusion of new tribes, creatures and lore, something that could be reflected in the video game. While James Cameron is confident in Ubisoft’s vision for Avatar , the upcoming open-world game has even more to work with since the release of The Way of Wat
However, it too had a noticeable drawback, and that was a lack of general combat encounters. Across those four main missions we completed, assaulting that base was the only time we ever really drew a bow or a gun for combat purposes. We could hunt a few creatures while exploring Pandora, but that was using a bow to get good shots similar to how Assassin’s Creed 3 handles hunting . Even looting the animal leads to the main character saying a few words in commemoration and thanks. Yet, we only encountered one very small and short combat encounter when exploring the world, leading to it feeling like there’s a lot of downtime and not allowing the combat to live up to its sheer potential. It could be the full game is different, but this sequence of missions and areas did lean more heavily into exploration than its com
Set in the never-before-seen Western Frontier of Pandora, Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora takes place fifteen years after the events of the first Avatar film and prior to The Way of Water in a time when humanity has returned to Pandora to continue exploiting its resources. The Na’vi protagonist finds themselves free of the RDA, but also a stranger in their own birthplace. Over the course of the game’s main campaign, players will witness the Na’vi reconnecting with their lost heritage as a Sarentu – a tribe of which they bear a mark upon their face – while learning from the memories of their ancestors, and discovering what it truly means to be Na’vi, while joining forces with other clans to protect Pand
One of the essential themes of the saga is that humans are expanding across the planet at an alarming rate, destroying nature in their wake. The first film establishes the many interests humans have in Pandora and its resources, and The Way of Water explains that, due to their technological advances and funding from the RDA organization , they have been able to essentially build an entire city on Pandora in just a few months. It would be very interesting to be able to explore and observe the human-built fortresses and cities on Pandora and even attack them. It would show the overreach of the RDA there, as well as some of the unique and intriguing technology that exists in this futuristic world. This seems plausible, given past trailers featuring skirmishes with the
While there’s a lot to look forward to, the details regarding the video game adaptation are still quite sparse. Thanks to E3 2021, there’s a few important pieces of information that have been released including the launch date, the developers of the game, the basic premise of the title as well as the gameplay engine being utili
On top of that, exploring the tree limbs and tree tops is a lot of fun. Across these are a lot of plants that boost speed, and it saw us zipping, diving, dash, and jumping from point to point in a way not unlike a good Assassin’s Creed parkour run . Whereas that emphasizes stealth, freedom, and coordination, this emphasizes speed, being at one with nature, and the limber physique of the Na’vi. The result is a fun environmental design that shows Massive’s attention to detail, makes for a unique method of exploration in a Ubisoft open-world game, and really represents what Avatar is all about. It doesn’t seem perfect though, as we found ourselves on quite a few long treks where we only really had sprinting across the ground floor as the only opt
Before the world had seen any footage from the game and before the details of the title had even been announced, it was reported that the development was experiencing a delay that would pitch its release in 2022. One of the reasons, besides the global situation, was so that the game could coincide with the launch of Avatar
