PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds wasn’t so much a game that I loved playing–although it is a ton of fun–but it instead became a lobby for me to hang out and talk to my friends. While I do have some complaints and issues with the game from a critical perspective, those qualms are so easy to overlook thanks to fantastic combat and a swinging system that is easily the best gameplay mechanic of 2018.
