Senior Aesthetic Therapist Pegah Fakhim

Answer: Dear Crotty,

Please book your child in for a consultation – you can combine this with a 40 mins teenage facial, it’s always a good way to start your journey. The therapist will be able to advise on future treatments and products to use at home. We are treating a lot of teenage skin with very good results.

Please do come in for the consultation session and you are welcome to stay in the room during the facial.

You can call us directly or book online via our website.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Nakedhealth Team

Answer: We are able to do Hydrafacials on a 14 year old child with Parental Consent, and also look at prescription medical creams for this . I had two teenage daughters who had similar issues, so do understand the anxiety this can cause. Regards

Nurse Gilly Graver

Answer: Hi,

Thanks for getting in touch. I’m sorry to hear your 14 year old is suffering from acne.

There are several causes of acne. In younger people often hormones cause an over production of oil/sebum in the skin, which blocks pores and leads to a build up of skin cells and bacteria resulting in breakouts.

There are clinic that can help, from deep cleansing facials to LED light therapy. At Dorset Aesthetics I offer Dermalux Tri-wave MD light therapy, which works really well to reduce bacteria and inflammation resulting in fewer breakouts.

The first and most important step is a good home skincare regime. Cleansing the skin properly with the right cleanser can really make a big difference. Using hydroxyacids on the skin, like salicylic acid and acid, and retinols will also really help.

Keeping the skin moisturised with a hydrating but non pore-blocking product will prevent the outer layers of the skin from drying out. If this happens oil can get trapped, water evaporates causing more oil production, and bacteria can get in through tiny cracks in the skin, all worsening the problem.

It’s important to get advice on the right skincare products and ingredients. I offer free consultations and can do so via video call if you would like us to have a chat about skincare. Many products I recommend are available via Get Harley, a skincare concierge platform, which I can upload bespoke skincare prescriptions to for to purchase whenever they need. So if you don’t live locally this is a great option.

Please feel free to click on my link and book in online for a free consultation.

Many thanks,

Gilly

Answer: Hello,

Thank you for your email enquiry.

I would recommend you book into the clinic for a skin consultation. This is when our highly trained and experienced prescribing nurse can get to know you better and discuss your with you. As with all treatments, we work with the individual and create a personal treatment plan for you.

A brief explanation of some of the we have on offer are as follows:

• Obagi products – these are that are so effective in the treatment of acne. The two main products in the range are the Daily Care Foaming Cleanser and Pore Therapy each containing salicylic acid which unclogs pores and helps remove the bacteria which causes acne.

Chemical Peels – there are several peels suitable for acne skin types. During consultation you will be advised which is the best one for your particular skin condition.

• IPL/Laser Acne treatments – The bacteria in the skin is successfully destroyed and the acne is cleared leaving you with smooth, fresh, healthy looking skin. The laser will at the same time stimulate collagen production which will enable the skin to heal with less scarring.

• Laser Resurfacing & Scar Reduction – this is done with a SmartXide CO2 Fractional DOT Laser.

Medical Dermal Roller – this improves scar tissue and can also be done at home.

This is a very large and complex subject and affects people at times in their lives. Acne cannot be “cured” but can be controlled. The effects and the scarring that often comes from uncontrolled acne breakouts can be minimised and reversed. Always remember that is better than cure as acne scarring can rarely be completely eliminated.

Our skin consultation is £50, please let us know if you have any questions or would like to book your consultation.

Our opening hours are Monday to Saturday 9am – 6pm.
